The other approach for innovative design is to define its core function and value while seeking the right persona. Bake a Curl, this innovation project, was started from a scratch, disassembled the hair curler.
We slowly analysed each parts in order to indicate the key pieces. The curler works when electric current converted to heat transforming the hairlines so there are two things that matters, the heat and Ability to transform hair. We remained them as a heart then moved to new possibilities by asking ‘What if’. What if these functions are applied to other situation? What if the product is used by different kind of user?
So we set the new target group, 10-year-old girl who loves dressing  and yeah, plays with her mom make up which are the imaginative way to increase child’s creativity. Bake a curl is not only a hair curler but also a learning toy which must be save for kid to play with. It was designed into hair brush like. The triangle form allows children to attach each piece together to explore unique hairstyle. Inside of the curler contains silicone gel which can be heated up in microwave and hot enough to bend the hair without harming them.
